Retirement Life Planning:

This session focuses on how employees will choose to organize their time in retirement and explores their expectations, anxieties, passions, purpose and social needs surrounding this life stage.
Social Security
This session focuses on the Social Security system: benefit eligibility, benefit calculations, spousal benefits, the impact of earned income, and what steps employees will need to take in regards to Social Security. Information will be presented on how to speed up the process and decrease frustration by researching and signing up online.
Medicare and Supplemental Coverage
This session focuses on the specifics of Medicare: eligibility, coverage, cost and timeline. Included are Medicare Parts A, B, C and D (Prescription Drug Coverage), plus navigating the maze of Medicare supplements. Details provided on how to avoid penalties and gaps in coverage.
Retirement Financial Planning
This session encourages employees to actively participate in the financial planning process by looking at income and expenses, assets and liabilities, and the fundamentals of financial planning. More specific information will be provided on retirement income streams, types of risks, tax considerations, and matching retirement income goals with appropriate investments.
Estate Planning
This session focuses on the proper uses of estate planning tools: individual will, trust, power of attorney, health care directive, ownership and transfer of assets. Probate will be explained from cost, time and privacy perspectives.
Long-Term Care
This session focuses on long-term care, emphasizing that it can be provided in many living situations, not just skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes). It addresses initiation of services, cost, and methods of payment. The session includes detailed information on long-term care insurance and an inside look at the Minnesota Long-Term Care Partnership Program.
Caregiving
This session addresses caregiving of parents, spouses, friends, and other loved ones. It touches on how to determine what services are needed, how to provide or locate the services, and how to survive the caregiving process.
Company Retirement Benefits
Your organization is invited to lead this session that explains your employee retirement benefits. Suggested topics include: pension formulas, 401(k), retiree health coverage and/or other options. This provides a time to encourage steps to take during the contribution phase, just prior to retirement, and during the distribution phase.
Other optional topics may be requested by organizations (Maintaining Brain Health, Senior Housing etc…).
